Two-pocket belt pouch
Separate finds + trash pockets · webbing belt · drainable mesh base · Budget · the one to buy first
Two pockets is the whole specification. Good finds in the small one, trash in the big one — and the big one needs to be the bigger of the two, because you will dig far more junk than treasure. A typical park hunt is nine pieces of trash to one coin.
Look for a drainable mesh or grommeted base. Wet sand and mud go in with everything you dig, and a sealed nylon bag turns into a swamp that rots the seams by the end of the season.
The belt matters more than it sounds. A pouch on a proper webbing belt sits on your hip bones and you forget it's there. One that clips to your jeans belt drags your waistband down all afternoon.
