The Nokta PulseDive is a pulse-induction pinpointer waterproof to around 200 feet that converts into a compact scuba detector with a swappable coil — and it's the obvious choice if any part of your hunting happens underwater. Short version: unbeatable for divers, over-specified for a park hunter.
Pulse induction is the key difference. It ignores salt water and mineralization entirely, where a standard VLF pinpointer starts falsing in the surf.

01Specs that actually matter in the field
A different detection method from standard pinpointers — it sends strong pulses and times the echo fading. It completely ignores salt water and mineralized ground, which is exactly where VLF probes fall apart.
Genuinely scuba-rated, not wade-rated. For a diving detectorist this is the entire reason the product exists.
Pop the pinpointer tip off and fit the coil, and it becomes a compact standalone detector. Genuinely useful for diving, where dragging a full-size machine down is a hassle.
No battery door, which is part of how it hits that depth rating. Charges by magnetic cable — bring the cable, there's no AA fallback.
Vibration matters even more underwater, where audio is muffled and you're often working by feel.
02Who it's for (and who it's not)
Buy it if you dive, snorkel, or hunt surf regularly. Pulse induction's immunity to salt is the real feature, and the coil conversion makes it a legitimately useful second machine for a diver.
For dry-land hunting, buy the Garrett Pro-Pointer AT instead. It's cheaper, it's more discriminating in iron, and 20 feet of waterproofing is already more than a park hunter needs.
